We have worked with many high profile clients. Below we have identified a number of case studies based on these continuing relationships.

Solas Associates recently worked with The Welsh Assembly Government’s Equality SME Project. The project works with Business Advisors who support SME’s on Equality issues. We devised a training programme on the Religion and Belief Regulations (2003) which we rolled-out across Wales.

Enterprise Enfield

Solas Associates have been working with Enterprise Enfield since 2004, providing training and one to one advice sessions with their clients. Initially we ran a series of training courses on Recruitment and Selection and Customer Service, and this has developed into providing training courses on Assertiveness and Time Management. Our equalities wing has supported the agencies clients providing sessions on the forthcoming Age Legislation and Women’s Only training.

Andrzej Warhaftig (Business Manager) commented: ‘Solas Associates provides an excellent service. Their trainer, Ann-Marie, is very professional and reliable and has always been wiling to meet and cater for a range of demands, and think creatively as to how we could meet the needs of our existing and potential clients. The quality of her work was evident from her attention to detail in preparation of materials and the delivery of the courses’.

Solas Associates relationship with Havering Early Years Unit has developed since 2004. We have been involved in working with them in a research, consultancy and training capacity. We worked with the Unit in carrying out an independent review of their EYDCP. We provided support and consultancy in developing and rebranding their Resource Library. Our training programme has developed for the unit.

We have provided extensive training to their client groups in Management Development (Introduction to Management, Leadership Skills, Appraisals, Recruitment and Selection, Conflict Resolution) and Educational specific courses (Every Child Matters, Preparing for Ofsted, Out-of-school clubs). We have facilitated Conferences for the Unit and their providers, speaking to audiences of over 200 delegates on the 10 Year Strategy, Birth to Three Matters.

Our continued relationship with Havering Early Years Unit highlights our high level of evaluation and customer satisfaction.

Early Years Manager, Ms Suzanne Kendrick commented that ‘the level of service provided was excellent, and training programmes were designed with delegates for delegates’.

Commission for Racial Equality (CRE)

Solas Associates, in association with GBS Corporate provided training to the CRE in 5 of their offices across the UK. Programmes we ran included Diversity Awareness and Managing Diversity. As part of our innovative approach, we worked with professional Actors who played out scenarios and hot-seated in character, giving the delegates a unique opportunity to understand the impact of Discrimination and non-compliance with Diversity Policies. This was the first time this methodology had been used at the CRE and it was hugely successful. Programmes were highly rated and evaluated.

Hinckley-Bosworth Borough Council

Solas Associates developed and delivered Diversity Awareness training programme to over 500 members of staff in Hinckley Bosworth Borough Council in 2004. Our specially designed awareness course covered areas of legislative compliance, raising awareness, bullying and harassment and the business benefits for diversity.
